When planning your family’s wardrobe for your newborn photoshoot, there are several things that you may want to consider.
1. Comfortable Clothing
Choose clothing that is comfortable and easy to move in, since you will likely be holding and posing with the newborn for a significant amount of time. You just had a baby, and let’s be honest, there is nothing flattering about the diaper that you get to wear after all of that. Consider wearing a loose fitting dress, sweater and legging, or if you can fit in those pre-pregnancy jeans, just go for it! Here are some of my favorite outfits from amazon!
2. Simple is Best
It’s a good idea to choose clothing that is relatively simple and not too busy, as the focus of the photoshoot should be on the newborn. Solid colors or subtle patterns tend to work well in newborn photoshoots. Avoid clothing with large logos or graphics, as these can be distracting in the photos.
3. Coordinating not matching
In terms of coordinating your family’s outfits, it can be helpful to choose a color scheme and stick to it. For example, you might choose neutrals or a particular color palette (browns, blues, greens etc.)
It’s also a good idea to avoid matching outfits, as this can look dated in the photos. Instead, try to coordinate your outfits by choosing complementary colors and styles. One way to make it easier is by finding a patterned dress or shirt for one family member and coordinate the family’s outfit around the colors found in that patterned outfit.
4. Consider your surroundings
Do enjoy vibrant colors on your walls? or is your room painted in darker tones?If you’re doing a lifestyle session at home, you may want to think about where you’ll be doing your photoshoot and if the colors on your walls will clash with the outfits you have chosen.
